Friendly, Courteous Cowboys lead the way. Families & Groups are welcome with a minimum rider age of 7 Years and a Weight Limit of 225 lbs.

Things to See & Do

This is a great ride with beautiful scenery. The trails run through the forest and the views of the lake at the top are breathtaking.

You can choose a 1 or a 2 hour ride. We chose the 1 hour ride and found that to be just right.

The dinner that they serve is delicious! Tri Tip Steak, BBQ Chicken, salad, potato, corn-on-the-cob, beans, garlic bread and drinks were served. You can bring your own wine if you'd like.

If you are coming from the North, you will pass through the Cave Rock Tunnel which is a dual bore highway tunnel on U.S. Route 50 (US 50) along the eastern shore of Lake Tahoe. It's kind of a cool landmark.

Zephyr Cove Horseback Riding Insider Tips

• The trail is rugged but the horses are very familiar with it. Riders do need to pay attention when going up & down a few steepish areas (nothing too intense).
• Bring your camera - the guide will generally stop your group near the top and take pictures for you (using your own camera). It's a really beautiful shot of Lake Tahoe behind you.
• The horses are really calm and seem well acquainted with the scenic trails.
• Reservations are recommended
• Even if you've never been on a horse before, they do a really great job of make riders feel comfortable.
