Activity Overview
Wooden spoons can be transformed into a variety of awesome puppets. For this craft, we will create a cute clucky wooden spoon chicken. This is a great craft for children of all ages and it is fun and easy to make. The great part about a wooden spoon is that the whole base of the puppet is already prepared on the wooden spoon. The face is the backside of the flat oval and the stick is both the body and the handle.
Materials Needed
- Wooden spoon
- Yellow paint
- Paint Brush
- Orange felt
- Scissors
- Yellow feathers
- Googly eyes
- Tacky Glue
How to Make It
- Paint the spoon with yellow paint and set aside to dry.
- Cut a triangular shaped beak from orange felt. We used sticky backed felt or your can use glue to adhere it onto the center of the face portion of the spoon.
- Use glue to attach the two googly eyes in the appropriate onto the flat rounded portion of the spoon.
- Glue yellow feathers along the back of the handle.
