Activity Overview

The Wing Luke Asian Museum aims to present and illustrate the rich cultures of Asian Pacific Americans. It was named after Wing Luke, the first Asian American elected into public office in the Pacific Northwest. He inspired many in the community and after his death, they created a foundation in honor of his visions. Up to this day, The Wing serves as a living witness of the lives, both successes and challenges, of Asian Pacific Americans.

Things to Do

  • See permanent displays of Wing Luke's vision, the history of Seattle's Chinatown, the journey of Asian Pacific immigrants, and how they are keeping their cultural heritage intact.
  • Catch temporary exhibits on display. As of writing, The Wing is home to a Bruce Lee exhibit, Climate Change Response displays, and a Garden Walking Tour.
  • Aside from the museum tour, The Wing also offers daily neighborhood tours of Chinatown. Depending on your free schedule, you can either take the 3-hour tour (follow Bruce Lee's footsteps) or the 90-minute tour (Chinatown through a local's eyes). Book online for reservations.
  • The Wing also offers other tours such as the Historic Hotel Tour, Seasonal Food Tours, and Gallery Tours. Enrol your kids in other museum events like Family Fun Days, Teen Programs, and Summer Camps.

Wing Luke Asian Museum Insider Tips

  • Make it an Asian Pacific day. After your visit to the museum, eat dim sum and go on a tour of Chinatown.
