Wing Haven Gardens and Bird Sanctuary

Activity Overview

On Fridays and Saturdays the Wing Haven Gardens offer a peaceful sanctuary for Charlotte's residents. Wing Haven is made up of the Elizabeth Lawrence House & Garden and the Wing Haven Gardens and Bird Sanctuary. The majority of these grounds were either purchased from or donated by their former owners and are now run entirely by Wing Haven. The non-profit meticulously looks after the grounds and plant life while organizing intermittent events and activities for children and adults.

Things to Do

• Although the entirety of the Wing Haven Gardens is not really designed for young children they do have a Children's Garden. Here activities for kids are often held. These include regular story times, gardening workshops, tea parties, special events for major holidays like Christmas and Easter and much more. • Other, more adult-oriented events like plant sales and beer and wine parties take place in other parts of the Gardens.

Wing Haven Gardens Insider Tips

• If you decide to bring young children to the park it may be best to keep them close to your side. Wing Haven Gardens make it very clear that their grounds are not a playground. Dogs and alcohol are not welcome although you may bring food to eat in the Children's Garden.
• The Gardens are only open to visits from the public on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 am to 5 pm.
• Wing Haven has its own parking lot located in between their two gardens beside the organisation's office.
