Activity Overview

Take your bike out for a spin on the popular West Orange Trail. Running for 22 miles, this multi-use trail passes through downtown Oakland and Winter Garden and features four main stations along the way. All stations have everything you need for resting, including bike racks, restroom facilities, picnic tables, and drinking fountains.

The West Orange Trail is one of the most popular rail-trails in Florida and will take you through some of the 1950s communities that developed in the 1950s around the Orange Belt Railway, which was then thriving. As the trail pops in and out of wooded areas, you will certainly not get bored by the time you reach its end at the northern trailhead on East Welch Road.

Things to Do

  • The trail is not steep, so it is a suitable choice for the entire family.
  • Besides biking, try roller skating or jogging to keep fit while enjoying the beautiful landscapes.
  • Pack a picnic to enjoy with the family after a pleasant afternoon ride.
