Located in the historic Over-the-Rhine area of Cincinnati Washington Park is one of the city's oldest and most beloved parks. In 2012 it underwent a major renovation conducted by the non-profit organization 3CDC which cost around $46 million so now it's looking better than ever! There is always something going on at Washington Park which has managed to retain its old fashioned feeling while continuing to appeal to locals and visitors alike.

Things to Do

• Washington Park is a great place to get away from it all. Kids will enjoy the park's playground which has slides, a climbing wall, a sandbox and more. During the summer they can play in the park's 130 jet fountains which keep visitors cool in the hot sun.
• There are plenty of trees and a lot of grass to lay out a blanket and enjoy a picnic. You can even bring along the dog to run free in the fenced in 12,000 square foot dog area.
• For a bit of culture you can go for a stroll along the American Classical Music Walk of Fame.
• The Cincinnati Music Hall overlooks the park. This historic building was constructed in 1878 and was listed as a National Historic Landmark in 1975. Today it is home to the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, Cincinnati Ballet, Cincinnati Opera and many more. If you can try to catch a show in this impressive venue while in the city.

• You can keep up to date with the park's busy line-up of events with their calendar online.
• As part of the park's recent major renovation a parking garage with space for 450 cars was installed underneath the park. It can be accessed from Elm Street or Race Street.
