Activity Overview

A trip to Las Vegas can quickly become an expensive affair so any free entertainment that the Casinos have to offer is always welcome. Along the Strip there aren't many free shows better than the Volcano at the Mirage. Every thirty minutes from 5:00 p.m until 11:00 a.m 7 days a week you can see this spectacular show. The only time there is no show during those hours is at 7:30 p.m. Arrive a little bit before showtime to get right up close.

Things to Do

  • Synchronised to a score of tribal drumming and rousing chants the Volcano erupts with fireballs that can fly twelve feet in the air. Water and light effects work in tandem with the sound effects which were recorded from the eruptions of real volcanos. You will be sure that streams of molten lava are passing right before your eyes as you feel the heat from the flames on your face. The same team who designed the fountains at the Bellagio created this wondrous show so you know you are in for something spectacular!

Volcano at the Mirage Insider Tips

  • If you are staying at the Mirage try to grab a room on the fourteenth floor or above to get an amazing aerial view of the pyrotechnics.
  • The show is a treat for music fans too. Deadheads will be thrilled to know that the soundtrack was composed by Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart and Indian music composer Zakir Hussain. It is the perfect accompaniement to the pulsating show of fire and water.
