If you have two dimes on hand, try out this interesting Third Dime Apparition. This is an easy illusion that shows how your eyes can play tricks on you. By rubbing two dimes together vigorously between your fingers, you will create a phantom image of a third dime that magically appears below the two dimes that are within your grasp.
This illusion is fun for adults and children alike and can be done with any small coins and your own hands. When we tried using quarters, we found that they were difficult to rub together without fumbling and dropping them.
If you want to add this to your magic act, have plenty of coins on hand and pass them out to your audience. This is definitely one of those jaw dropping, quick and easy activities that have a wow factor. You can also cast a magic spell on the coins that you are distributing. Your audience won't believe their eyes.
Materials Needed
How to Do It
- Take two dimes and place them vertically between the pads of your two index fingers.
- Move your fingertips and the two dimes against each other up and down quickly.
- Take a good look at the dimes when you do this, you will notice an image of a third dime that appears just below the two dimes.
