Activity Overview

The Smart Museum of Art is an intimate art museum located in the University of Chicago, the permanent collection displays over 15,000 pieces of arts and crafts, and there are temporary and traveling exhibits, as well. The museum is named after brothers David Smart and Alfred Smart who founded the museum in 1974 and were publishers in Chicago. The museum houses rare and unique art pieces from paintings and artifacts to contemporary art. The museum is open everyday except Mondays and admission is free.
