The Rockery is the place to be to enjoy nature at it's best. Located within the Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary in Ipswich, Massachusetts. This is a day trip you will not want to miss!
Our family loves the Rockery - built in 1905 this location is filled with narrow rock and cave like passages all brought in by man and made entirely from imported stone - it overlooks water and is lined with rhododendrons. It is only a short walk from the parking lot and includes some very scenic views.
We brought some bird seed which we placed on our hands - some brave chickadees even stopped by for a quick bite!
The kids will love the wildlife - it is everywhere - just stand or sit still and listen - you'll be surprised at just how many birds you will hear or frogs croaking and splashing.
