Activity Overview
The North Bridge, often called the Old North Bridge. It is a historical place in the Concord. This bridge and the sites nearby it are now part of the Minute Man National Historic Park of the National Park Service. It is an extremely popular tourist destination.
The current wooden pedestrian bridge is a replica of that bridge that was at the day of the battle. Here you will discover some famous monuments, a lot of historical information and beautiful scenery.
Things to Do
The Old North Bridge is a beautiful place that is located in a residential area. It has a beautiful garden, wild flower meadow, and the bridge itself is so fascinating. The importance of the bridge, fields, home sites and graves can't be undervalued. The history is fascinating and touching, and stunning by how enchanting this area is.
Even though the bridge is not original, but it’s much thought provoking to walk down to the bridge to see where a momentous event happened in the history. Ordinary people did extraordinary actions that thoroughly changed history.
The area is quite beautiful and offers lots of spacious open spaces for children to play. There is often a National Park ranger that gives a talk about the battle at North Bridge and a musket demonstration.
There are also several information signs on the paths leading to the bridge from either side. It has British Soldier Monument and their graves, who gave their lives in the Revolutionary War.
Each year in mid-April, thousands of people flock to historic Lexington and Concord and Minute Man National Historical Park to celebrate Patriot's Day. Patriot's Day is a special Massachusetts State holiday commemorating the opening battle of the American Revolutionary War, April 19, 1775.
Overall this is really a picturesque and relaxing spot that has cool minuteman statue.

- You can rent or launch kayaks from a number of Concord boat launches so you can kayak along the banks of the park and under the bridge.
- You can grab lunch down the road at the historic Colonial Inn, or around the corner at several of the town's eateries. You may also think about packing a picnic.
- It's an easy and scenic walk from the visitors' center where you can view a brief orientation film.
- This bridge is not the original but is made to look like it.
- Bring camera with yourself as well for taking beautiful shots of serene views.
