Activity Overview

The Mini Time Machine Museum of Miniatures is so called because the various models on display here are meant to transport you through different eras into our history and even into different worlds. These miniatures require a truly incredible level of craftsmanship and artistry. The most important ingredient however is imagination and it is for that special magic that these works resonate so deeply with children and adults alike.

Things to Do

  • The Enchanted Realm Gallery is full of magical miniatures that should delight any imagination. The Three Bear's Cottage, animal motorcyclists, a skeleton's bistro and a house for Santa's elves are just some of the wonderful works you will find here. This area should be particularly fun for children.
  • The Museum's History Gallery is dedicated to works which aim to accurately depict how life was lived in the 18th, 19th and early 20th centuries. So you can find a Danish antique shop from the early 1900s, German grocery store from the mid-1800s and an English house from the late 18th century. All are fascinating in their historical detail.
  • At the Exploring the World Gallery you will be given an insight into various ways life is lived around the world and how artists choose to represent these lifestyles in miniature form. From living rooms, bedrooms, studies and bathrooms to full scale houses the attention to detail is truly amazing.
  • Every second Saturday of the month sees the Kids Create Family Fun Program take place. Here your children can learn how to design and build miniature models themselves in a welcoming and fun arts and crafts workshop. The price of this program is included in the Museum admission.
