Activity Overview

Phoenix, Arizona's Hall of Flame Fire Museum can lay claim to being the world's largest museum dedicated to firefighting. Included in the exhibitions is equipment and paraphernalia dating back almost 300 years. These objects are sourced from across America and throughout the world. The Museum aims to illustrate and pay homage to both the bravery of firefighters past and present and to illustrate the history of this courageous career. There is a tribute to the firefighters of 9/11 too.

Things to Do

  • The Museum houses six separate gallery spaces. A self-guided tour around these displays starts with a ten minute video introducing the galleries and the Museum's content. As you make your way through the exhibits you will come across many vehicles used to fight fires from horse drawn carriages to the kind of trucks we are more familiar with today. There are also various motorized pieces, examples of operating alarm rooms and a collection of patches from different departments across the States.
  • During your visit you can pay your respects at the National Firefighting Hall of Heroes which honors American firefighters who have been decorated for acts of valor or who have lost their lives trying to help others in their work.
