Activity Overview
The Hahvahd Tour is a great way to learn about what is arguably the world's most famous university. The tours are led by actual Harvard students who will explain about the college's history and what is going on there at the moment. The history of this institution stretches all the way back to 1636 so there is plenty to talk about. Plus it has counted some of the most important and influential figures in the history of the United States among its student populace including presidents Franklin Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy and Barrack Obama and other people such as Mark Zuckerberg and the multi-billionaire college dropout Bill Gates.
Things to Do
- The tour lasts for about 70 minutes and runs seven days a week. You will hit many of the most important sites on the campus during the walk like the John Harvard Statue, Harvard Yard and historic buildings such as Memorial Hall, Sever Hall and the Harvard Lampoon. During this time you will hear plenty of stories about Harvard culture, notable alumni and the history of the campus.
The Hahvahd Tour Insider Tips
- Though this tour only takes you around the outside of the campus there are some buildings that are open to the public which you can take a look at once you are finished. Ask your tour guide which ones you can go into.
- The tour runs from March 1st to December 1st. There are no tours in the rest of December or during January and February.
