Activity OverviewThe California Palace of the legion of honor is a fine arts museum which features extravagant arts collection that dates back to 4,000 years of history of ancient arts and crafts. There are special exhibitions showing ancient Mediterranean art, European and Eastern Art encompassing over 124,000 works of art. The museum building takes its inspiration from the legion of honor in France, it is an 18th century landmark that was built for a German Prince. The legion of honor building was constructed in California in 1924. The museum is open to tours Tuesday through Sunday, children aged 17 and under pay no admission. Things to Do
