Activity Overview

The birthplace of rock 'n' roll Sam Phillips' Sun Studi was responsible for some of the most important and influential rhythm and blues, country, rockabilly and of course rock 'n' roll recordings of all time. People like Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Howlin' Wolf, Carl Perkins and many more recorded here using Phillips' trademark sound. Today the Studios which are a national historic landmark, can be toured by the public. It is a must do for all music fans and for anyone who has an interest in the cultural history of America in the second half of the 20th Century.

Things to Do

• Walking into Sun Studios takes you back in history to when some of America's finest rock 'n' roll musicians recorded some of their best loved songs. The tour is only about 45 minutes long and the studios themselves are really quite small but the tour is worth every penny as you discover about the starting point of a musical movement that would change the world.
