Activity Overview
At Space Center Houston visitors can learn first-hand about the space missions of NASA and get to see many historic artifacts from the space race up close. Families can visit the old historic mission command control along with rockets like the Saturn V. A number of tours and education programs are offered at the site
Things to Do
- The Next Giant Leap: Beyond Planet Earth is one of the center's principal exhibitions. It begins by looking back over the history of space programs conducted by both the United States and Russia.
- The exhibit then turns to the plans which NASA have for the next 50 to 100 years of space travel. These include a semi-permanent base on the moon, plans to mine asteroids for materials and a mission to send humans to search for life on the planet Mars. Kids can enjoy speculating about a future in space.
- Tours include the Level 9 Tour which is the Center's VIP experience. This four to five hour tour gives you access to all the areas you would have dreamed of seeing if you ever wanted to be an astronaut. There are only twelve places a day on this tour making it the most personal experience that you could ask for. Best suited for older kids and teens due to the length.

- By booking online you will save $5 per ticket which is the smart thing to do given that the various tours can get quite expensive.
- Eating options at the Space Center can be a little overpriced so think about eating before you go or making dinner plans for after your visit.
- Children under the age of 3 are granted admission for free.
