The Southern Arizona transportation museum preserves the history of railroad transportation in Southern Arizona, the museum displays historic locomotives, memorabilia, artifacts and photographs. The museum is located at downtown train depot in Tucson, AZ. The locomotive on display is Southern Pacific 1673, the historic locomotive began its life in the 1900 and was restored for public viewing in 1994. Visitors can tour the museum for free, the guided tour is informational and takes you through the depot lobby and the museum. The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday and year-round for tours.
