Activity Overview

South Park Blocks are among the oldest parks in the city of Portland, OR, the Portland state University campus is built on a hub of blocks of parks. The blocks of park in Downtown Portland are lined with green trees and are lush green landscapes where students can get together and study, and it serves as an outdoor space for events. The development and creation of park began in the 1800s and is continuing till now, the park boasts artwork like sculptures, statues and fountains. The park is open everyday until 9PM.

Things to Do

• Families visit the park to enjoy a fun day out and recreation, children can have an open space to play and adults can enjoy a stroll.
• The park features many concerts and events year round, it has many historic sites and plaques of interest as well.
• There is a playground for kids, drinking fountains and walking paths for walking and running.
• There are many pieces of sculptures and statues throughout the blocks, sculpts are made of granite and clay. There are many memorials through out the park.
