South Bass Island is a small Island located in Ottawa County, Ohio. There is a small village in the island that is a popular tourist attraction, especially during the summer. Transportation to the island is provided by Ferries, the island also has a small airport. The island offers many adventures for the families, such as taking a ferry ride to the island, fishing, and amusement parks.

Things to Do

• Families can take a joyous and adventurous ferry ride to the South bass island, Miller boat line operates ferries to south bass island. Middle bass ferry service lets you take your bicycles along with you. The jet express can also take you to the island.
• There are beautiful nature trails for hiking. Families can do kayaking at the waterfront of the island near Oak point state park. You can enjoy parasail, strapped into a parachute harness and lifted from the back of a boat, enjoy views of the surrounding islands.
• If you enjoy riding a jet-ski, jet skiing can be done with rented water crafts. You can also take a splash in the water by riding in a power boat. Try wall climbing skills by climbing a rock wall at the Perry's cave family fun center. Families can enjoy golfing at the Saunders gold course.
• The south bass island state park offers recreation and peace of mind for its visitors, there are many activities to do, such as, camping, power boating, kayaking, and fishing. There are picnic tables and a picnic shelter that can be reserved, ice skating and ice fishing is offered in winters. Restrooms are available near the park. Pets can be brought to the park.
• Marblehead light house is a popular attraction in south bass island. The light house offers great views of the Lake Erie. Marblehead light house state park encloses a museum. Light house tours are available, and the grounds surrounding the light house have picnic tables.
• South bass island is home to many restaurants, some of the popular restaurants include, Blu Luna restaurant, boat house bar and grill, cameo pizza, chicken patio, dairy isle, frosty bar & family pizza, Pasquale's cafe, village bakery and so much more.
• Day trips are not done without shopping, there are candy shops, gift centers, apparel stores, boutiques, souvenir shops and so much more. The butterfly house gift shop stocks items for the whole family and toys and games for kids.
