Activity OverviewSoldiers and Sailors monument is a historical monument in Downtown Indianapolis, Indiana, the monument has a significant place in the history of Indianapolis. Located on the monument circle, it commemorates and is dedicated to the Civil war veterans, and all the men and women who had served in wars prior to the world war I. The monument is the only one of its size that honors the civil war soldiers and sailors. An architect from Berlin, Germany designed the monument and the monument was dedicated in 1902. The monument has large cascading fountains on its either sides, the interior of the monument has a war museum. The monument has free admission, and is open to public Wednesday through Sunday.
