Activity Overview

Just up the river from Great Falls Park, this regional park has a nature center (watch the snakes get fed!), several short, easy hikes, and row boat, canoe, and kayak rental.

Things to See & Do

Rent a row boat, canoe or kayak and enjoy the river

Take one of several a short, easy hikes around the park. The hike along the river from Riverbend to the Falls will take about 35-40 minutes, and pass by the dam.

Watch the snakes get fed at the nature center

Picnic areas and grilling areas are available near the parking lots and Visitor Center. Also, a few picnic tables are located at various spots along some of Riverbend Park's trails.

Riverbend park is said to be a good fishing spot by locals.

Riverbend Park Insider Tips

  • There is no entrance fee for this park however there is a pay box asking for a $2 donation per car.
  • The park has a small visitor's center (sells fishing gear, and has a small native/nature exhibit)
  • The park hosts special events like Native American festivals, Virginia Bluebell festival, with themed crafts, or animal presentation, puppet show, and other activities available.
