Activity Overview
Reid Park Zoo houses over five hundred animals in four different zones which are organized according to habitat. Come along to see all kinds of different animals from caiman, lions and python to tigers, storks and bear. Various events and programs are organized by the non-profit zoo which help visitors gain a deeper understanding of the animals and their habitats.
Things to Do
- There are plenty of fun activities to take advantage of at the Zoo that kids are sure to enjoy. You can get up close to the park's giraffes with feedings offered for $2 per person.
- You can also ride on a camel those most resilient of desert dwellers, or if you prefer transport that feels a bit more secure then you can opt for the park's Zoo Train.
- If you want to cool off after all that you can head for the Kenya Get Wet interactive wet play area. After that if you are still ready for more activities then go along to Wild Ideas at the Lee H. Brown Conservation Learning Center where you will find more animal encounters and hands on exhibits.
- Each month the Zoo holds a Little Critters Workshop for 2-5 year olds and a Young Explorers Program for 6-12 year olds. Each of these programs allows the children to partake in age appropriate activities which help them learn about animals, the zoo and more.
Reid Park Zoo Insider Tips
- There is a good amount of free parking provided by the Zoo for visitors.
- Reid Park Zoo is wheelchair accessible. Wheelchairs, single strollers and double strollers are all available to rent for the day.
