Activity Overview

The Queens County Farm Museum is a 47-acre open-air museum located on the largest remaining tract of undisturbed farmland in New York City. This land has been farmed since 1697, making it the longest continuously farmed site in the entire state. It features historic farm buildings, livestock, planting fields, a greenhouse, an orchard, and an herb garden. It's the perfect attraction for families want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy the peace and fresh air of the countryside, since it doesn't even require you to leave the city.

Things to Do

• Explore the farm! There's plenty to see, including livestock, fascinating farm tools, and fields full of crops.
• Buy some goat feed from the Welcome Center and watch your child's face light up as they feed the farm's friendly goats.
• Go on a hayride around the farm - they're offered on weekends between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. from April through November.

• Don't miss the opportunity to take a free guided tour of the farm's historic three-room Adriance Farmhouse, which was built in 1772 by the Dutch family that owned the farm throughout the 1700s.
