Pusch Ridge wilderness area is a part of the Coronado National forest in Tucson, Arizona, Pusch ridge has a rich and bio diverse population of plants and animals. Pusch ridge was home to the last populations of Arizona's desert bighorn sheep. The hiking trails in Pusch ridge can be used by hikers, Pusch ridge has three distinct peaks to summit; Pusch peak, bighorn mountain and table mountain. The ridge is named after German native, George Pusch who established a ranch near the base of the ridge in 1874. Visitors can enjoy the views in the wilderness, take a hike on the trails and enjoy picnicking.

  • Pusch ridge is located at the north of Tucson in the Santa Catalina mountains, visitors can enjoy day time hiking at the wilderness.
  • The unique habitats of the ridge are astounding, at lower elevations you can see desert plants like cactus, and as you go up you can see towering pine trees and grasslands.
  • Camp grounds and picnic areas are available in the national forest, camping season is on year-round, and many picnic spots are on site.
  • The ridge has a varied wildlife and inhabitants, there are black bears, and the rare desert bighorn sheep.
  • The best season to visit is in the spring season; in March and April.
