Activity Overview
The Puget Sound Navy Museum informs visitors about the history and significance of the history of the U.S Navy and of civilian shipping in the Pacific Northwest. Their collections count more than 18,000 individual artifacts focused on pieces that relate to their areas of interest. One of the best things about this great little museum is that it is completely free to enjoy! Plus the staff is made up almost entirely of former naval servicemen and women so you know you are getting the most authentic experience possible.
Things to Do
- The Museum has a few permanent exhibits and a regularly revolving temporary ones too. You can learn about what it is like to live aboard an aircraft carrier and on a submarine. Find out why special operations with submarines are so important. Learn about the history of Puget Sound Naval Shipping yard and its significance to the U.S navy. And be sure to catch the informative and entertaining films shown at the Museum's Dry Dock Theatre.

- From October to April the Museum is closed on Tuesdays.
- Navy buffs should check out the website for the Naval Heritage and History Command. Here they will find links to naval museums all over the U.S, informative pieces on various aspects of the navy's history and plenty of resources for research.
