Activity Overview
Play a classic card game of Rummy with your family. We are always thinking of new and unique games for our family, but it is important to not forget about the tried and true classic games that have entertained us for generations. The whole family can get involved in this terrific card game.
The object of this game is to collect sets of cards. You can collect three or four of a kind, or three or more consecutive cards of the same suit to earn point. The game is played over several rounds and ends when all of the cards in your hand fit into the collected sequences listed above.
Materials Needed
A deck of playing card
How to Play
Shuffle the deck and deal seven cards to each player.
Players should look at and sort their cards.
Place the remainder of the cards upside down in the center of the table to draw from.
Flip the top card over so it is face up next to the pile to form your discard pile.
In each turn you do two things, first you must take a card from either the top card from the draw pile or the top card from the discard pile.
Assess whether this card will benefit your hand and you must discard a card either from one already in you hand or one that you drew from the table.Place the card that you discard face up in the discard pile.
When a player has either three or four of a kind or three and four cards that are in sequential order or a mix of the two, then they can place their cards fanned out on the table for the win.
