Activity Overview
The Phillips Park Zoo to teach students and visitors a better understanding of nature and the animal world in a safe and fun environment. They claim to give top quality care to their animals and through free admittance hope to make their services to as many people as they possibly can. They currently have around 100 animals representing about 41 different species in their care.
Things to Do
- You and your family can view a wonderful array of animals at the Phillips Park Zoo. Currently it is possible to see Bald Headed Eagles, Red Tailed Hawk, Great Horned Owls, Barred Owls, Cooper's Hawk, Peregrine Falcon, Gray Wolves, Cougars, North American River Otters, Llama, Elk herd, Goat, Reptiles, Swans, Turkeys, Peacocks, Greater Prairie Chickens and more!
- The Zoo offers kids the chance to take part in a scavenger hunt. You can download the hunt here. Also available to be printed out before you go along are word scrambles, word searches and a range of interactive games to be played on the computer.
Phillips Park Zoo Insider Tips
- Strictly no dogs or pets are allowed inside the zoo. Along with this it is prohibited to bring skateboards, roller blades, scooters, bicycles, basketballs, footballs, baseballs or balloons inside the Zoo. Remember too that you should never feed the animals!
