Activity Overview

A must-see for any visitor to Philadelphia is the regal-appearing Museum of Art, sitting at the end of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and offereing a look at over 200,000 works of art from countless genres, cultures and time periods.

The third-largest art museum in the country, the Philadelphia Museum of Art has impressive collections of Renaissance, American, Impressionist and Modern Art on its three floors and features the grand masters along with local luminaries such as Thomas Eakins.

Things to Do

After touring the inside galleries, meander through the one-acre garden and see the dramatic sculptures on display.

On Fridays after 5:00 p.m., enjoy cocktails, light fare and international or jazz music.

On Wednesday evenings, participate in a drop-in art-making activity, yoga class or play games with friends.

  • Price of admission includes two consecutive days in the museum's two buildings, along with admission to the Rodin Museum, and the Historic Houses of Mount Pleasant and Cedar Grove.
