Activity Overview
Located along the Neuse River Paddle Creek offer canoe, kayak and stand up paddle board trips downstream. A great and different way to see North Carolina's natural assets Paddle Creek are only a short drive from Raleigh and Wake Forest. Since the activity isn't overly demanding this is a top day trip out for families with young kids and for older people too.
Things to Do
- Paddle Creek have two main routes which the majority of their customers opt for, simply called the Quick Trip and the Long Trip. The Quick Trip is a simple one and a half hour float along the Neuse River measuring about three miles; this is the one to opt for if you are a beginner or are with younger children. If you think you and your group are up to something a bit more demanding you can go for the half day Long Trip which is about eight miles in length. This will give you all the time you need to appreciate the nature and enjoy the scenery along your route.
- If you would prefer instead to head out on your own then you can do that too. Kayaks, canoes and stand up paddle boards are all available for rent with Paddle Creek. Your only requirement is that you return whatever you choose at 5.30 pm the following day though more time can be organised if you want it.
