Old World Wisconsin is an open-air museum in Eagle, Wisconsin that has been teaching visitors about American history since 1976. Located just 40 miles outside of Milwaukee, Old World Wisconsin is the world's largest museum dedicated to rural life and features over 60 historic buildings. While you're there, you can explore a 19th century village and farm, learn about traditional farm recipes, watch a blacksmith and a shoemaker as they work, go for a stroll through the beautiful heirloom gardens, and meet the livestock.

Things to Do

• Visit the Koepsell Farm to see what life was like for a family on a 19th-century farm. You can also take part in traditional farm activities such as checking the chicken coop for eggs and helping in the heirloom garden.
• Check out the "Catch Wheel Fever!" exhibit, where you can try out old-fashioned bicycles and tricycles.
• Go for a walk through the Crossroads Village, which depicts life in the 1870s.
• Stop by Raspberry School, a one-room schoolhouse where you can learn how kids of all ages were taught together in the same room.
