Old Sturbridge Village (OSV) is a museum, located in Sturbridge, Massachusetts, in the United States. It is one of the largest living museum covering more than 200 acres New England. The Village features 59 antique buildings, a working farm and three water-powered mills.

The museum is a popular touristy place and fit for educational field trip. The modern dressed interpreters speak modern language that helps visitors to understand 19th century life.

Things to Do

Old Sturbridge Village has a coach ride, restaurant and gift shop, print shop, shoe shop, church, graveyard and covered bridge. There is also the town, trades, crafts, farms and businesses.Livestock and crops are of 1830's style. The grounds are painstakingly manicured and have nice walking tracks.

The village highlights beautifully furnished homes from the simple to the elegant. There is also a cafe, tavern, and a book store. Old Sturbridge Village seems to be very scenic, interesting and informative.

There are often kid-friendly activities like candle dipping workshops and old time games (like hoop rolling, stilt walking) on the grounds.

It's a great trip for families and is not recommended on days when it’s so warm. The river ride is just beautiful. Old towns elsewhere are insight. Some of the buildings are original to Sturbridge.

It also has onsite museums, such as the rifle museum. The day will be gorgeous by walking throughout the large grounds. Overall this is a very large village with historic buildings.
