Activity Overview

The New York Hall of Science is a science museum located in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park in Queens, New York. Established as part of the 1964 New York World's Fair, it was one of the world's first science museums, and is currently the only hands-on science center in New York City. The museum features over 450 exhibits, science demonstrations, activities, and workshops that are designed to teach children of all ages about topics related to science, math, engineering, and technology. Take your kids for a fun-filled day of learning!

Things to Do

• Check out the museum's exhibits - permanent displays will introduce children to fascinating science topics that look at how fireworks light up the sky, explore the world of microbes and molecules, and teach kids about things like light and sound.
• Take your little one to Preschool Place, an area designed especially for the museum's youngest visitors. Children that are 6 years old and younger are welcome to explore, build, and learn in this safe area.
• Encourage your child to take part in one of the museum's free interactive daily demonstrations - topics include the science of flight, how air pressure works, and fun chemistry experiments.

• Visit on Fridays between 2;00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. or Sundays between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. for free admission to the museum.
• Make the day even more memorable with a visit to the Science Playground or Rocket Park Mini Golf, or watch a film in the 3D theater!
• Print out one or a few of the museum's student worksheets available on their website - they're a great way to help enrich your child's educational visit with fun activities.
