Nash Farm

Activity Overview

A historic Texas farm that has been functioning for more than 150 years, Nash Farm offers a selection of activities and events for the entire family year-round. This is the oldest intact farmstead in Tarrant County and offers an excellent insight into the way settlers lived in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Children can learn about how the changes in technology transformed farming over the centuries. They can also get a hands-on approach to farming and learn various survival tips.

The 5.2-acre farm is easy to reach from Dallas by taking Highway 114 West to Grapevine. From Fort Worth, take Highway 121 North to Grapevine.

Things to Do

• Book a session in the Nash Farmhand program, which allows all family members to provide care fo animals, ride a tractor and engage in many other farm activities while dressed in period costume.
• Take a tour of the Nash Farm to discover the way of life of the settlers.
• Pack a picnic and spend the entire day learning about farming, touring the historic buildings and doing crafts.

Nash Farm Insider Tips

• Parking is only allowed in designated parking areas, so ask when in doubt.
• Signing up in advance for group tours is required. Sign up online to be sure you get a spot.
• There is a covered pavilion with tables you can use for your picnic.
• There is no admission fees for walking around. A fee is applicable for tours and hands-on activities.
• Don't miss the craft house, where you can see how wool was dyed using plants and the kitchen of the main house, where the entire family can see how soap was made in the old days.
