Activity Overview

The Museum of History and Industry housed approximately 100,000 different objects, with only 2% on display at any given time allowing for new and different things to see every time you visit. The artifacts on display are from Seattle area events including the 1962 World’s Fair and the 1999 WTO riots. Most, if not all, of the items on display are either about Seattle and its history, or created by a local artist. Some items dating back to the 1800’s.

Things to See & Do

• Maritime Seattle which celebrates Seattle’s long history with the water. Make sure to check out the 360 degree view of the city through the WWII periscope.
• Bezos Center for Innovations showcases Seattle’s rich history of innovation.
• True Northwest: The Seattle Journey follows the trials and tribulations Seattle has gone through to become the great city she is today.
• On temporary exhibit until the end of September Chocolate the Exhibit offers visitors a glimpse the chocolate making process. There are special dates and times for chocolate tasting and demonstrations of how to make chocolate.

Museum of History & Industry Insider Tips

• First Thursday of the Month – Free (PLEASE NOTE: Admission to Chocolate: The Exhibition will cost $12 on Free First Thursdays July - September.)
• There is a café on site open daily from 10am to 5pm offering a wide variety of dining choices including espresso and local wines and beers.
