Milwaukee Public museum is a historic museum that was opened in 1884, and is located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The museum hosts many exhibits on its three-floor facility, the exhibits depict natural history, human history and cultures around the globe. The museum attracts visitors from all over, especially families and children. The museum houses the Daniel M. Soref national geographic dome theater and planetarium, the theater features 3D films, and travel to and explore the space in the planetarium.

Things to Do

  • Visitors can enjoy a number of permanent and traveling exhibits, view the Hebior Mammoth, a 14,500 years old specimen found near Milwaukee. Visit old Milwaukee in the streets of old Milwaukee exhibit.
  • Many interesting exhibits are located in the museum; a recreation of a 19th century European village in the US, replica of a Costa Rican rain forest, "third planet" is a popular exhibit that features life-sized models of dinosaurs.

  • Sip in some coffee and enjoy gourmet products at the Daily grind coffee shop, enjoy a lunch or quick snack at the Cafe in Milwaukee public museum.
  • The gift shop is located on the ground floor, shop for children's toys and books, and gift items from around the world. Stop by hay market candy store for some sweet treats.
