Middleton Place is an 18th century, National historic landmark that is home to America's oldest landscaped gardens. The exotic gardens are a treat for the eye, beautiful camellias, azaleas, kalmia, magnolias, myrtles and roses bloom through out different seasons, and something is blooming at Middleton place year-round. The house museum is a 320 years old landmark that was home to the Middleton family. Visitors can enjoy nature at the beautiful gardens, take in history at the Middleton house, and 18th century old stable yards.

Things to Do

• Middleton place offers self-guided tours to the gardens and stable yards. The 65 acres of gardens unfold magnificent design, beautiful flowers, a truly inspiring oldest landscape.
• Visitors can continue the self-guided tour to the stable yard, there are enclosures with animals of historic breeds. View skills demonstrated by a weaver, cooper, carpenter, potter and blacksmith that were practiced by artisan slaves, centuries ago at Middleton place.
• A docent-led tour will lead you to the Middleton house, the house displays antique collection of furniture, paintings and literature.
• Families will also enjoy " Meet the Breed" guided tour, where visitors will get a chance to learn about different animal breeds at the stable yards, and their historical importance.
• Families can have the guided carriage tour, where a handcrafted carriage takes you through the gardens, bamboo forest and scenic woodlands.
• Nature walks give a chance to experience the plantation and the wildlife in the oldest landscape and plantation.
• Children will enjoy watching cow milking activity at the stable yards, and see the working of a water buffalo.
• Different kayaking tours are offered at the place.
