Activity Overview

The Miami Children’s Museum was opened in 1983 as an education center designed to encourage children to explore and create. The non-profit enterprise offers classes and interactive exhibits on a variety of topics in addition to the permanent exhibits that children can explore and enjoy. Dedicated to serving their unique community, the Miami Children’s Museum is almost fully bilingual.

Things to See and Do

  • The exhibits focus on making learning fun and offering a creative outlet where kids can explore possible professions. Children can play in a pretend fishing boat, veterinarian area, construction zone, grocery store, dentist’s office, bank, and a doctor’s office.
  • Each room has a different theme with opportunities to play and learn. For the more active kids there is a challenging rock wall which kids can climb for an additional fee and a two-story sand castle is the perfect place to use up extra energy.

Miami Children’s Museum Insider Tips

  • For safety purposes no adults are allowed inside the museum without children and no children are allowed without adults so be sure to bring along your partner in crime!
  • The museum is open from 10 AM – 6 PM each day with closures on major holidays.
  • Bring cash for the parking lot, where vehicles are charged $1 per hour.
  • Once a month the museum offers a free entrance day so visitors should check the calendar on the website and plan ahead.
