Activity Overview

Named after the ancient capital of Egypt, the Memphis Pyramid was initially built as a sports arena. The place has been closed to the public since 2004 but it's a good thing that the city of Memphis, Tennessee has found a good use for it and leased the place to Bass Pro who converted it to a superstore. Starting in 2015, The Pyramid is now a one-stop shop for all outdoors adventure equipment and home to a luxury hotel, a bowling alley, an archery and shooting range, and a laser arcade.

Things to Do

  • Make it a fun family weekend by riding the tallest freestanding elevator in the country at The Pyramid. Take the elevator to the top of the pyramid for $10/adult and $5/child and go out to the Observation Deck. It's best if you come here before sunset. At the deck, you can get drinks or snacks and enjoy the views of the city and the harbor.
  • Take your time in seeing the Bass Pro retail store. It's a huge, beautifully designed store with an aquarium, indoor ponds complete with ducks and boats, and alligators in a tank. You will find all of your outdoor needs here may it be hiking, hunting, or boating. Going around the store is fun experience in itself!

Memphis Pyramid Insider Tips

  • If possible, schedule your visit on a weekday. The place gets crowded on weekends and finding a parking spot can be tough.
