Mayflower II is a replica and is very authentic replica of the 17th-century ship "Mayflower" that Pilgrims sailed to the New World. The Mayflower II is located in Plymouth, on Water Street. The Mayflower II was launched on a rainy day on September 22, 1956.It has so many stories to tell. A real step back into history with narrators in character on board help to ensure you truly understand what life was like in 1620.
Things to Do
Upon arrival, a dockside exhibit traces the history and origins of the ship's passengers, and describes the navigation techniques the crew used to find their way at sea. As you approach the ship, a collection of vintage photographs documents the construction of Mayflower II in England and her 1957 Atlantic crossing.
On board the ship, visitors will encounter costumed role players, modern-day staff, and maritime artisans, all eager to talk with you. On the seaward side of the ship, there are reproductions of the two boats that came to America with the original Mayflower.
Mayflower II is just is a short stroll from Plymouth Rock on the Waterfront.
The craftsmanship and historical accuracy of this masterpiece can be seen in every corner of the ship. You will be truly amazed to when you realize how tightly the 102 Pilgrims had to cram into the lower deck of the ship.

- The staff on board performing a good job of staying in character, and are more than happy to answer questions.
- The tour itself is about 30 minutes, however there are a number of displays that visitors would be interested to read about the history of the ship. Allow about 45 minutes to an hour for this visit.
- Mayflower II is actually a seaworthy sailing vessel. Since the year 2000, she has sailed to Providence, Rhode Island; Boston, Massachusetts and Provincetown, Massachusetts
