Louisiana Art & Science Museum features interactive Art and science galleries especially for the children that encourages learning and education in a fun environment. Louisiana Art and Science museum is located in Downtown Baton Rouge on the banks of the Mississippi River, and is housed in a historic railroad depot. The Art galleries showcase American Art, European Art, antiques, modern Graphic art and contemporary art collections. See an ancient mummy resting in a recreated rock-cut tomb in the ancient Egypt gallery. The adjacent Irene W. Pennington planetarium features exclusive science shows, star shows, films, music shows and educational material related to the space science. Louisiana Art and science museum is open Tuesday through Sunday.

• The ancient Egypt gallery showcases a 2,300 years old mummy, Egyptian artifacts from the Ptolemaic period, and ancient Greek and Roman artifacts.
• Children love the Discovery Depot that is designed for toddlers and kids in the age group of 3-9, it has building blocks, toys, a playhouse, a train set, a tree house, puppets, and other fun activities.
• Creation station is for kids of all ages, kids can create art work and take home their creations.
• Families will enjoy visiting the science station gallery, featuring interactive nano exhibits, fossil digs, anatomy models, calculating the number of calories in different snacks and much more.
• Explore the Solar system with hands-on exhibits in the Solar System gallery.
• See stunning model of the solar system in the Planet tower, The Universe gallery features recent images from the Hubble space telescope, NASA space craft and others.
• The museum store features books, movies, artifacts, jewelry, science and space related gifts and toys.
• Birthday parties for the children are offered with interesting science themes, such as dinosaurs, mad scientists, pirates, alien invasion and many more.
