Lake Eola Park

Activity Overview

One of the most central attractions in downtown Orlando is the Lake Eola Park. The park has been a feature of downtown Orlando since 1892 when it was officially designated as a park. The park has played host to several attractions in the past, including a pier, a race track, tennis courts, and even a zoo! The center of the lake features a famous fountain which is commonly known as the "Centennial Fountain" despite its official name being the "Linton E. Allen Memorial Fountain". The park was expanded to its current size in 1993 and is now a great green space in an urban area that you and your family can visit!

Things to Do

• The kids will love climbing aboard the swan-shaped paddle boats in the park and heading for a ride across Lake Eola.
• When you've finished riding the swan boats, why don't you take the little ones along to the play area in the park for them to run around and play to their hearts' content?
• Stretch your legs as you walk around the sidewalk that runs around the circumference of the lake. The lake measures just under a mile in length.

• Save money on dining in Orlando by taking your own food along to the park and having a picnic. There are a number of places to pick up food around the outside of the park if you've forgotten anything.
• The swan boats are charged per boat and hold up to five people. If there are less than five of you going, consider inviting some friends or organizing a playdate for your little ones in order to get your money's worth.
