Activity Overview
Don't miss the Lake Champlain Chocolate Factory tour, where visitors can make their way through a tempting Lake Champlain Chocolates store and see the production floor through large glass windows in the back of the shop.
A tour leader will provide a history of chocolate and the Lake Champlain Chocolate company in particular, playing a video about chocolate production and passing out delicious milk, dark and white chocolate morsels.
The production floor will then be explained from up above, and one will look through the windows to see conveyor belts, molding cups and all of the different machines needed to produce Lake Champlain's high-quality treats.
Things to Do
- Following the tour, admire the many confections in the adjacent shop, where you can also enjoy additional free samples.
- Walk over to the South End Kitchen next door to the factory and learn to make your own chocolate bars with Lake Champlain Chocolates' instructors.
- Come for a free chocolate tasting seminar at 3:00 p.m. each Saturday.
Lake Champlain Chocolate Factory Insider Tips
- Tours generally start on the hour at 11:00 a.m., Monday through Friday, and the last tour for each day begins at 2:00 p.m.
- Production schedules change daily, and there is no guarantee that all production areas will be in use at the time of each tour.
- Tours are disbanded during portions of December, especially closer to Christmas.
- During peak season, tours fill up, so arriving early would be prudent.
