Housed in an impressive modern building designed by American architect Louis I. Kahn, the Kimbell Art Museum boasts a stunning collection of international art that includes works by Michelangelo, Fra Angelico, Caravaggio, Picasso, Monet, Poussin and more.

The museum is also home to a large collection of Egyptian, Mesoamerican, Asian and African art. Special exhibitions are available year round, so check for them when planning a visit.

The Kimbell Art Museum is easily accessible by car and public transport from Sallas and Forth Worth via Highway 183. Bicycle racks are available outside the museum.

Things to Do

  • Have a look at the upcoming Family Program of the museum when planning a visit with the kids
  • Sign the kids up for the Kimbell Kids Drop-in studio, where they can enjoy art sessions. The sessions are suitable for children under 12 and you can sign-up at the entrance.
  • Try the Children's Workshop available every Saturday for children aged 6 to 12 and their parents. Call in advance for reservations.
