Activity Overview

Embark on a hands-on experience that allows children of all ages to discover a wealth of educational activities at the Kidzu Children's Museum. This museum opened its doors in 2006 and since then it has welcomed more than 150,000 visitors. Besides offering a wide range of educational programs for children, the Kidzu Children's Museum also hosts exhibits from around the nation.

The museum is located in downtown Chapel Hill, atop the Wallace Parking Deck, but as of 2015, there are plans in place to move it to a more spacious venue in Wallace Plaza. To discover the latest programs the museum has in place for children, check out the website of the museum.

Things to Do

  • Some of the museum areas you should not miss when visiting with children include the book nook, craft room and the chalk wall.
  • The main exhibit room is home to a large number of fun stations, some of them including a kitchen and a prop stage.
  • A block station and a science corner are also available at the Kidzu Children's Museum.
