Activity Overview

The Kelsey Museum of Archaeology can be found in the heart of the University of Michigan campus in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The museum's collection includes over 100,000 different objects and artefacts from a variety of different time periods and civilizations. Over the years the collection has grown and grown and includes fantastic objects from Byzantine textiles to everyday Roman and Greek objects.

Part of the museum is housed in the magnificent Newberry Hall which was built in 1888 and features on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

Things to Do

• Take a guided tour led by the museum's friendly and knowledgeable docents. Tours are subject to a small fee. However, entry to the museum itself is free!
• Take home a souvenir of your visit or a gifts for your friends and loved ones. You can purchase a range of interesting and educational things from the museum's gift shop.
• Learn more about how the Egyptians, Romans, and Greeks all lived by checking out the museum's expansive collection. There are also interesting examples of art from the ancient world including beautiful Greek pottery, exquisite jewelry, and marvellous Roman sculptures.
