The historic village of Fallsington, about a half-hour ride from Philadelphia, offers a guided tour through some of its buildings in Meetinghouse Square, where the establishments appear unchanged from their heyday years ago.
The rest of the grounds include 3 blocks worth of 90 historic, privately-owned buildings that make up a thriving community preserving architecture from revolutionary times.
Things to See & Do
- Take a guided tour of a log cabin, tavern and mansion in Meetinghouse Square.
- Stroll past the additional privately-owned residences and buildings with a pamphlet containing details about 21 of those structures.
- An 18th-century log cabin and a turn-of-the-19th-century tavern and house—have recently been restored and opened for guided tours by Historic Fallsington.
Historic Fallsington Insider Tips
- Check the calendar for special events, including historical characters roaming the premises, revolutionary-era crafts, hayrides and more.
- Open mid-May to mid-October, Tuesday through Saturday.
- The three hundred year old Village of Fallsington today represents an enduring Quaker community and an architectural heritage that is uniquely American. Today, Meetinghouse Square appears as it did almost 200 years ago. Historic meeting houses and commercial and residential buildings have been restored and intrusive development has been stayed.
