Heritage Village Museum

Activity Overview

Heritage Village Museum is a living history museum in Cincinnati that invites visitors to explore life in southwestern Ohio back in the 19th century. It features over a dozen historic buildings that were moved to the museum from nearby sites, including a train station, a medical office, and a general store. As you explore the village, you can learn all about the 19th century from friendly interpreters as they perform traditional tasks such as soap making and spinning, as well as participate in hands-on activities.

Things to Do

• Explore the Chester Park Station, a beautiful train station that dates back to the late 1800s.
• Visit the Fetter General Store, which was originally located on Main Street in Boston, Ohio. It features displays of numerous artifacts from the 19th century.
• Attend a vintage base ball game! Heritage Village is home to two vintage base ball teams, the Cincinnati Buckeyes and the 1869 Cincinnati Stockings, which both play throughout the year.

• While you're welcome to take a self-guided tour and walk around the village on your own, if you want to go inside the historic buildings you'll need to take one of the guided tours offered daily.
• Check out their calendar to learn about upcoming events such as special exhibitions, war reenactments, annual festivals, and their fun-filled Haunted Village event in October.
• If you live in the area and your child is interested in history, consider having them attend one of the museum's summer day camps, which focus on topics such as pioneer skills and life during the Civil War.
