Activity Overview

The Greek Theatre, built in 1929, is one of the most famous and historic venues in Los Angeles. A show at the 5,870 seater amphitheater style location is something which you are unlikely to forget. Built on a canyon site the Theatre has wonderful acoustics and makes an excellent place to stage productions old and new or to see one of your favorite musical acts.

Things to Do

  • As outdoor venues go there are few better than the Greek Theatre. It is relatively small in comparison to some other venues in L.A which gives it more of a feeling of intimacy. From any seat you will have a great view of the action on stage and you will be able to hear everything perfectly. It plays host to not just musical performances but various stage shows too.
  • The Theatre is located in Griffith Park. There is plenty to do at this massive 4,310 acre public park. You could arrive at the Park before your performance begins at the Theatre and make a full day out of it.
  • There is plenty of space to picnic and if you are an active person then then you can go swimming, biking, hiking or horse riding. Or you could visit a few of L.A's finest attractions like the Griffith Observatory or the L.A Zoo.

Greek Theatre Insider Tips

  • The Greek Theatre's box office is not actually in the theatre but is in fact a bit north of it at 2700 North Vermont Canyon. It is closed on Sundays and certain holidays throughout the year.
