Gore Place Mansion is the former residence of Massachusetts Governor Christopher Gore. His Federal-era mansion and estate can now be explored by the public free of charge. The grounds are available for private functions while various programs and events are regularly held here.

Things to Do

• The Mansion is considered by some historians to be the most important Federal era mansions in New England. It is renowned for its gorgeous architecture and is otherwise known as the "Montecello of the North".
• You can come and explore the mansion yourself free of charge though fees apply for organized, guided tours. Gore Place Mansion tailors certain tours and activities specifically to the needs of families and young children. These include tours where you receive activity packs and must explore the grounds to complete your tasks, along with seasonal events for Christmas and Halloween. • There are a number of regular tours and exhibits which are recommended for ages 6 and up. The mansion also has a busy schedule of events, including concerts, games and social get-togethers throughout the year.
• Kids and adults alike should enjoy the Farm at Gore Place which hosts its very own sheep shearing festival every year. You can also buy fresh produce from the farm stand.

• There is good accessibility at Gore Place. Service dogs for the blind are welcome and the ground's map and brochure are offered in braille. The first floor of the mansion is wheelchair accessible, however seeing as there are no elevators in Gore Mansion, the second floor is not. Wheelchairs, walkers and scooters are all welcome.
